Gifts are one of the best tools to use in business. Most times it reflects a marketing edge, and it can open a professional relationship or close the door on one. Corporate gifts are a sensitive subject because if the gifts are used all of the time, however some consideration into the type of gift should be used. The considerations needed to choose a professional gift are: 1.Make the gift appropriate. Gifts given to customers should have two purposes. One purpose is to market your business, and the second purpose is to give something nice away. When you are choosing your giveaway gift make sure it is something that fits both criteria. For instance TD Bank gives away lollipops in their corporate colors. It is something that is nice, yet it reminds you of the company because it is color coded. 2.Make the cost of giving away the product cost efficient. It is nice to give away gorgeous gifts, but remember your budget, and make sure that what you are getting in return is of equal value to you and your business. 3. Keep the recipient in mind. Who are you giving the gift to? Is your portfolio or service visitors people looking for information about you and your services? So a gift that is downloadable such as a booklet, or articles, a sample picture and more may make a nice gift. You determine that. Gift giving can be a fun and when done correctly can improve the image of your business. When doing your on line portfolio giving a gift may be a rewarding tactic. From your on line portfolio you can consider it as another type of business card or marketing item, or as another way to make friends with your visitors and an a remember for them to keep you in mind for future reference.
